The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs or how I've found my Dream House

There's something magical about this Walt Disney movie that fills me with joy everytime I see anything related to it.

Last weekend I saw this amazing house which was like an old and abandoned kindergarten with a lovely patio. This lovely patio had a little playground which now looks very sad.

I regret not taking better pictures of it. When I saw this entrance I felt in love.

Oh and the view from the house is this.

Eight Etsy Artists You Should Know
by Kate Singleton

Last week Kate Singleton from Art Hound was Guest Curator at the Etsy blog.
I was lucky enough to be featured on the article as one of the Eight Etsy Artists You Should Know.

She also has some great tips for finding Art online:

Kate's Tips for Finding Art on Etsy and Beyond:
  • Take a few seconds to bookmark things that catch your attention when you first see them. Those few seconds can save hours when you need to go back to something you saw. I personally like delicious, hearting items on Etsy, Favoritizer (which uses the Etsy API) and Evernote.
  • Your favorite design, fashion, decorating, and lifestyle blogs are great resources for art, so don't overlook them. Anyone whose aesthetic you admire is a potential link to art you'll love. I've found a lot of really great art on two of my favorite design blogs: Pawling I Print Studio and Seesaw.
  • Take advantage of tools and sites like Etsy circles, Pinterest and Svpply, which leverage the collective sifting of many, many people. There just aren't enough hours in the day to look through it all yourself!
  • Sign up for the mailing lists of your favorite artists and galleries so you'll be informed as soon as new work becomes available. Then make sure you manage your mailing lists over time, unsubscribing from those that no longer interest you.
  • Be on the lookout for friends and family. If you come across something online that you think they'll love, send them a link and hope that they return the favor someday.
Even with all the search and sharing tools we have at our disposal, there are still a ton of super talented artists out there who aren't getting the recognition they deserve. One of the biggest reasons I use Etsy as much as I do is to try to address that issue; I love to find really talented artists and give them exposure on Art Hound. To that end I'd like to introduce you to eight kick-ass Etsy artists.

It was a great surprise so thank you so much again Kate!

Etsy Favourites

I've been drooling over the internet, mostly about things I don't really need
and most of the time about things I can't really afford. (Or not)
Here are a few of them.

1. SOUSOU T-shirt ((HELP JAPAN)) - by  Mogu Takahashi
(Because is so dawn cute and everything this girl does is amazing!)
2.  50 Soap Favors - Wrapped // Vegan - Organic - Cold Process by Prunella Soap
(yes, I want all of them)
3. Find your way HOME - Four 3d letters made from maps by Little White Dog
(Because I love it)
4.  80s Striped Canvas Skimmer Slip-ons - Size 7 by  See Saw Vintage
(Because spring has arrived, although today is grey and rainy)

Come pick me up / Take me out / Fuck me up / Steal my records / Screw all my friends  / They're all full of shit
So I've been away for a few weeks but I'm alive.
First I´ve been studying to the driver's licence exam. I'm not sure how it works were you are but here you have two exams. A theoretical one and the driving test. The first oner is a big difficult quiz and it all went out just fine so in a few days I'll be starting driving around town. Yay for that!

I also have been painting a few new things wich I'll show you in another post.
Good news are:
Ryan Adams is playing here in June for the first time, thing I've been expecting for so long!

So happy!
This is the place were he's playing in June!

 Can't wait!

Brooklyn-based blogger and Art consultant Kate Singleton
purchased my Flower illustration a couple weeks ago.
She has been collecting art pieces and prints for her house and here is the result.

I really like they way she decided to hand it next to a few art prints. Love the fact that the drawing is not framed or anything. As it's so intrincate I really think it looks better this way.

The original of course is now Kate's property but you can still find a print of it on Etsy.

A few original drawings still available on Etsy.

- Favourites #2 -

"Lizzy Stewart graduated with a first class degree from Edinburgh College of Art in 2009.
She is a fan of pencils, cardigans and Russian history."
This is how the illustrator introduces herself and for sure you can find so many beautiful
Russian inspired illustrations at her site.
My favourite work is the illustrated Wuthering Heights as it's one of my favourite books of all time:

you can find her own site here
and her etsy shop over here.

have a great weekend everyone!

04 February 2011

Since I have a few new projects to start and I feel I've been trying to
avoid them (including driver's licence) the drawing paper and drawing
pens have been taking a rest with those 3 little friends I have.

So, the new projects are:
- A new page where I will sell my work. Etsy is nice but I would like
to have a place of my own
- A mystery portrait I will tell you about in another post
- And new prints but they are still secret too, so why am I posting about it?

In other news, my plane prints are now available in A3 size
(420 x 297 mm / 16.5 x 11.7 in ) on etsy .
